Saturday | June 13 | 4-7pm
Level: Beginner and beyond
All Ages!
Instructor: Lettie Jane Rennekamp
Class Description
Are you ready to laugh, draw, and play with portraits?
Join special guest artist (and the artist behind our spectacular mural!) Lettie Jane Rennekamp for a fun afternoon workshop that offers total beginners and experienced artists the opportunity to play. Blind Contour drawing means drawing without looking at the page. It is a great drawing tool for teaching students to spend more time looking at their subject, while letting go of a realistic outcome. Lettie Jane will lead everyone through a demo to help beginners feel more confident and give more experienced artists insight into her drawing style. This class offers you the opportunity to feel more connected to other creatives.
Materials
All materials included, but feel free to bring your own colored pencil, but markers, crayons, watercolors, etc. if you wish!

Instructor: Rin Noelle
Looking for a playful Pride weekend adventure, creative date, or some delightfully queer self-care? Join Portland-based traveling artist and instructor Rin Noelle for a magical miniature sculpting workshop where we celebrate imagination, individuality, and clay in all its fabulous forms.
In this lighthearted handbuilding class, we’ll ditch realism and embrace the strange, sparkly, and spectacular as we create tiny mythical beasts, hybrid animals, magical companions, and gloriously unconventional creatures of our own design. Think big, make small, and let your imagination run wild.
Participants will learn foundational hand sculpting techniques, including building and attaching forms, adding texture, smoothing surfaces, and decorating with colorful underglaze details. Whether your creature is cute, campy, spooky, or unclassifiable, this workshop is all about creative freedom and joyful expression.
Each participant can create up to 5 miniature sculptures during class.
No clay experience necessary. Just bring your fabulous self.
After class, your creations will be glazed and kiln-fired by the studio, ready for pickup at a later date.
Come get Gay for Clay and make some queer little creatures with us!
