Throwing Large: Next Steps with Yuki Ages 18+
Level: Intermediate. You should have completed at least one 6-week intro wheel class and be able to center 2 lbs of clay on the wheel.

Ready to push your forms further? This class is for potters who have the basics down and want to throw taller, wider, and with more control, with individual attention and guidance every step of the way.
All materials are provided: Open studio time, tools, 25 lbs of bmix or speckled buff, shelf space, firing, and glazes.
Weekly plan:
Going tall: the anatomy of vase shapes
Going larger and wider: bowls and alterations
Multiples: practicing precision and consistency
Double-wall forms: lidded jars and doughnuts
Surface design and composite construction
Glaze party and potluck, Holiday prepartying!
Throughout the session, extra attention will be given to the formal elements of throwing: proportion, wall thickness, and form. Studio design projects will be provided for those looking to take the next step in their practice.
